Hampstead – Low Energy Retrofit

Enhabit were engaged by clients in Hampstead who were undertaking renovation works at their home. A feasibility assessment of microgeneration technologies (greywater and rainwater harvesting systems) was undertaken. Enhabit also suggested building fabric improvements and prepared a full heating system specification using various technologies and offered micro-generation options.

A full assessment of the home was carried out, including the client´s usage patterns, and a solution was offered, which included a wood burning stove with back boiler, a solar thermal system and a buffer tank with inputs from all main heat sources. Instantaneous hot water and heating via underfloor heating and radiators were provided. The existing boiler was integrated into the solution.

The hot water demand for the building was assessed and a solar thermal system was proposed and modelled. The system specifications were then prepared, including panel layouts and loading, allowing the client to compare like for like quotes.
