Policy
Many local authorities have declared a climate emergency and are now at the start of a journey to understand how this can be implemented in their local area.
Enhabit can advise on the myriad of building standards from Future Homes to EnerPHit and help councils to understand how these can be used either in planning policy or the council’s own building stock.
We can provide modelling and feasibility studies to help understand the impact of different building standards and retrofit models, as well as helping to deliver robust policy and employer’s requirements documents once the decisions have been made.
Product development
New construction products and systems are constantly being developed, particularly in the area of retrofit.
Enhabit can help develop low risk, system details and undertake building physics modelling such as thermal bridge or hygrothermal modelling to contribute towards system certification by BBA, KIWA or otherwise.
We have worked with several companies to develop their innovative construction products including Q-bot, MI-systems, British Gypsum, and Saint-Gobain Offsite Solutions.

Research
To enable us to be at the forefront of sustainable construction in the UK, Enhabit regularly contributes to research projects.
This includes building physics modelling for product development and delivery of Innovate UK and BEIS funded research projects in retrofit. Enhabit can provide technical advice and management services for research projects.
We can use our wealth of knowledge gained from these research and development projects to contribute to local and national guidance documents and training on low-energy building techniques.
Previous guidance documents or training that we have contributed to include: PAS2035:2030 +A1 2020, Retrofit Coordinator Diploma and Passivhaus Trust guide Demystifying Airtightness.
Experienced engineers
Our engineers have a background in building physics and modelling, as well as a practical understanding of low energy construction.
We work with a wide variety of clients including private individuals, commercial organisations, local authorities, manufacturers, government departments and the construction industry.
We would love to hear from you about your bespoke project and to discuss how we could help.
Good communication
One of our aims is to help clients to understand the technical aspects of low energy construction and making complex issues manageable.
Cost-effective service
We offer competitive rates for all our specialist services, including building physics modelling. In most cases we should be able to match others’ prices.
